Creating Affluence

by Deepak Chopra | New World Library and Amber-Allen Publishing © 1998 · 117 pages

This is a tiny book. Like super tiny. But, it’s also packed with a bunch of great Big Ideas. We explore the root of the word affluence, the two goddesses of wealth (and which one to chase!), the most important question for affluence, seeing failure as feedback + stepping stones, and creating unbending intent.

Affluence is the experience in which our needs are easily met and our desires spontaneously fulfilled. We feel joy, health, happiness, and vitality in every moment of our existence.
Deepak Chopra

Wealth consciousness is so much more than simply having the ability to make money. It’s a mind-set that involves seeing life, not as a struggle, but as a magical adventure where our needs are met with grace and ease. It includes the ability to see beauty wherever you go, to have gratitude as your primary emotion and an open heart to all you meet. Wealth consciousness is a state of mind, a sense, not of believing, but really knowing that what we need is available to us. …

What then are the states of awareness, the information and energy states that give rise to the experience of wealth in our lives? For the sake of convenience, and to make it easy to remember, I have listed them in order as the A-to-Z steps to a richer life.”

This is a tiny book. Like super tiny.

But, it’s also packed with a bunch of great Big Ideas. And, how to create wealth/abundance/affluence is one of the more requested topics so here we are. (Check out our growing collection of Notes on the subject here, btw. :)

We’ve covered a number of Deepak Chopra’s books including The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success which was one of the most transformative books I’ve read.

A question he asked on Dharma (the 7th law) is one of the reasons why I’m typing this now.

That question?

If you had all the time and all the money in the world, what would you do?

<— Always worth revisiting! (Which we’ll do in D is for Dharma. :)

For now, let’s have fun exploring a few of my favorite Ideas on how we can go about creating affluence in our lives!
