In our last couple +1s, we spent some time with Viktor Frankl—reflecting on his wisdom on both true freedom and true success and happiness.
Recall: “Success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue…”
And it only does so as the “unintended side effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one’s surrender to a person other than oneself.”
Today I want to spend some more time with Frankl.
We’re going to talk about his thoughts on your mission in life.
Here it is: “Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life… Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone’s task is as unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it.”
In our Heroic Coach program, we talk about this in our fifth module called “Heroic Quests.”
We kick that module off by reflecting on the fact that we ALL have the SAME EXACT ultimate mission. We call it a “Universal Quest.”
What’s that?
To Optimize our lives and actualize our potential in service to the world: Optimize = Optimus = Best = Eudaimon = Hero. (Or… As Maslow would say: “What one can be, one must be.”)
That’s a Universal Quest. We all share it.
And…
We all have what we call a “Unique Quest.”
What are YOU (!!!) here to do?
Seriously.
What are you here to do?
Today’s +1.
Know this: “Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life… Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone’s task is as unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it.”
And…
Know this: We’d be honored to help you gain more clarity on and deepen your commitment to YOUR mission in life. In fact, ultimately, that’s what ALL our work together is all about.
Shall we take the next steps on our Quests together?
Our 2020 Heroic Coach certification program starts tomorrow.
