#1856 “Thanks for Your Hard Work!”

In our last +1, we talked about our trip to the passport office.

I started typing this outside the passport office.

Mission accomplished!

Passport shall be shipped and will arrive soon.

Awesome.

Now…

At least for me, it’s easy to take all the people behind the scenes who make things like this possible (and EVERYTHING else in my life!!) FOR granted—which is why I try to make sure I remember to take them AS GRANTED.

Which is ALSO why I’m constantly looking for opportunities to celebrate these anonymous, hard-working humans and let them know how much I appreciate what they do for me.

Which is why, on the way into the passport building, while standing in line to go through security, I had a fun little chat with the security guy thanking him for being awesome.

It’s also why I complimented the woman who helped us on our her cool nose rings.

And…

It’s why I thanked the guy who helped us with the next step in the process and asked him if I could tell his supervisor how awesome he is.

And…

It’s why I thanked the security guy who greets people on their way into the passport office for being so cool.

In fact, Eric Adams, the security guy who greets people in the Houston passport office is, as I told his supervisor, THE NICEST, FRIENDLIEST GUY in the history of passport office security guys.

No joke.

I remember him when I was in the office about 8 months ago.

He had the EXACT same incredible enthusiasm greeting people that day as he did when he greeted me today.

The guy does this EVERY DAY for however long he’s been doing it and he seems to do it with the same remarkable energy and enthusiasm every.single.day.

I want to be like him when I grow up.

And…

That’s Today’s +1.

Let’s appreciate the people who make our lives possible.

Let’s quit taking them for granted and remember to take them as granted.

And…

Let’s find micro moments to celebrate them.

All day.

Every day.

Especially…

TODAY.
