#1855 “Good Looking Beard, Sir!”

I started typing this while sitting in the Houston passport office waiting area.

We were getting Emerson’s passport so we had the option to make a potential trip to Toronto together. (And, so he can go to Athens with us for our Heroic adventure in November!! There’s still time to join us. Click here to learn more.)

I was thinking about flying out to support my friend John Herdman and the guys on his Major League Soccer Team, Toronto FC, as they make a big playoff push and finish the year strong.

John loves Emerson and knows Emerson is a big fan of the team. And, being the incredibly cool human being he is, he invited Emerson to join me to meet his heroes and get a behind-the-scenes look at the training facilities and go to a big game.

Note: We decided to skip the trip to Toronto and watch a game in Houston a few weeks later instead!

Fun fact: John’s boy is no longer a little boy. He’s a soccer phenom in his own right and played for New Zealand in this year’s Olympics in Paris. 👏 ⚽ 🥅

But…

That’s not quite the point of this +1.

This is…

I’m always looking for micro moments of awesome when I’m out of the hermitage and out in the wild.

So…

I made sure I told the woman helping us with the passport that I loved her double nose piercings. She lit up.

I just told a guy walking by…

“Good looking beard, sir!!”

He beamed.
