Byron Katie teaches us: “When you argue with reality, you lose—but only 100% of the time.” One of my all-time favorite quotes.

Her process, called The Work, helps us challenge limiting beliefs and align with what’s true. We want to stop arguing with reality.

Here’s how to practice The Work today (check out the notes for a deeper dive):

1. Identify a Stressful Thought: She teaches us, “Write down what you’re believing that’s causing stress.” Bring one specific thought to mind.

2. Question the Thought: Ask yourself: “Is it true?”, “Can I absolutely know what I just wrote down is true?”, “Who would I be without this thought?”

3. Turn the Thought Around: “Find examples of how the opposite is as true or truer.” Explore a new, liberating perspective.
