#1935 The Light Bulb

Keep It Screwed In

This morning I got up before the fam (and the sunrise) and did my thing.

I dropped my Oura ring on its charger and turned on the little light on my desk.

And…

It flickered a bit.

I thought that was a little weird.

I checked to see if the light bulb was screwed in properly.

It wasn’t.

So…

I screwed it in.

And…

I thought of this wonderful wisdom from Richard Rohr’s great book Falling Upward as I did so…

“As Desmond Tutu once told me… ‘We are only the light bulbs, Richard, and our job is just to remain screwed in!’”

And…

That’s Today’s +1.

When/if YOUR light flickers a bit Today, remember our #1 job.

And…

Screw yourself back in.

🤓

P.S. As I created this short little +1 (#1935 for the record!), I thought of my 6th-grade English teacher Mrs. Ruescher who once told our class: “Short and sweet is hard to beat!”

Thanks, for the wisdom, Mrs. R! 🤗
