#1940 The Golden Buddha (vYOU!)

In our last several +1s (here, here and here), we’ve been chatting about the fact that YOU are the Hero we’ve been waiting for.

Now…

As you may recall, I told you about some lost sleep noodling some copy for the +1s.

We talked about wisdom from the great spiritual teacher, Eric Butterworth, and his buddy Superman.

But…

We haven’t chatted about the Golden Buddha yet.

So…

Let’s.

We’ve actually talked about the Golden Buddha more than once.

He shows up in the book (pages 351 and 353) and in these +1s: The Golden You and The Golden Buddha: Part II.

As you may recall, once upon a time, there was a HUGE golden Buddha. Monks were afraid an invading army would destroy it, so they covered it in mud and other stuff so it looked worthless.

Their trick worked.

The invading army left their precious Golden Buddha alone.

Unfortunately, the trick worked TOO well.

By the time the army left, no one remembered the fact that under that mud and junk was a GOLDEN Buddha.

It wasn’t until hundreds of years later that, when moving the huge statue, a little chunk of junk fell off—revealing the gold.

That Buddha statue is known as Phra Phuttha Maha Suwanna Patimakon. It’s worth approximately $250,000,000 USD.

And…

That Golden Buddha is YOU.

(And me! And all of us!)

Underneath all those stories we’ve told ourselves and all those less-than-awesome-habits we’ve allowed ourselves to develop, is a divinely inspired, Heroic version of us.

We just need to chip away at what’s in the way.
